BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh begins the stretch run of its season on Saturday afternoon as the Mountain Hawks welcome the No. 13/14 Holy Cross Crusaders and their high-powered offense to Goodman Stadium on Family Weekend. Lehigh is looking to shake off last week’s 27-20 loss at nationally ranked Colgate while the Crusaders are looking to remain unbeaten in league play. The Mountain Hawks jumped out to a 10-0 lead on the Raiders a week ago but were unable to hold on, while Holy Cross downed Fordham 41-27 in a game that featured over 1,100 yards of total offense, including 741 through the air.
Despite not registering a sack for the first time all season against Colgate, Lehigh still leads the Patriot League with 25 sacks this year, which places the Mountain Hawks ninth in the country with 3.13 per game. Senior Matt Cohen is the team leader with seven sacks, which are the most by any Patriot League player since 2005.
For the first time since the inception of the Patriot League Lehigh faces a nationally ranked team in back-to-back weeks during the regular season. Lehigh did face nationally ranked Hofstra and Furman during the 2001 NCAA playoffs.
Saturday’s game gets underway just after 12:30 from Goodman Stadium. Tickets may be purchased in one of three ways: by calling 610-7LU-GAME, by visiting the Lehigh Athletics Ticket Office, located in Grace Hall, or by logging onto Lehighsports.com.
