Mountain Hawks close road schedule in New York

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh takes to the road for the final time in 2009 as the Mountain Hawks head to New York on Saturday afternoon for a matchup with the Fordham Rams at Jack Coffey Field.  Lehigh is looking to shake off two straight tough setbacks versus nationally ranked foes and it will not be easy as the Rams have one of the top quarterbacks in all of FCS in senior John Skelton, who is second in the nation in total offense per game.  Fordham downed Bucknell last weekend at home 21-7 and is looking to pull its season record even this weekend.

Lehigh did not turn the ball over in its game with Holy Cross last weekend.  That marked the second straight week in which the Mountain Hawks did turn the ball over and the first time since 2006 they had back-to-back games with zero TOs.

In addition to rushing for a career-best 131 yards last weekend, junior Jay Campbell also completed an 18-yard halfback pass to classmate Alex Wojdowski for a touchdown.  It marked the first time since September 22, 2007 that a non-quarterback threw a TD pass for the Brown and White.  That day Pete Donchez hooked up with Nick Johnson in a Mountain Hawks win over VMI.

Saturday’s game gets underway at 1:00 from Jack Coffey Field in the Bronx.  The contest will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320 as well as Lehighsports.com with Matt Kerr, Kody Fedorcha ’00 and ESPN Radio’s Matt Markus on the call.  Pre-game coverage gets underway at noon.
