Lehigh heads to New York to face ranked foe

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh puts its unbeaten Patriot League record on the line Saturday afternoon as the Mountain Hawks head to Hamilton, New York to take on the No. 24/25 Colgate Raiders at Andy Kerr Stadium.  Lehigh downed Bucknell last weekend in Lewisburg by a 35-16 count as junior JB Clark threw for a season-best 327 yards and the Brown and White racked up over 460 yards of total offense.  Colgate fell to Holy Cross last week in a matchup of nationally ranked teams in Worcester, Massachusetts.  Raiders’ signal caller Greg Sullivan accounted for over 220 yards of total offense but it was not enough as Colgate suffered its first regular season loss since September 2008.

Sophomore Jake Drwal had a career day versus Bucknell as he hauled in nine passes for 124 yards.  The 124 yards receiving were the most by a Mountain Hawk since Sekou Yansane totaled 132 last year at Harvard.  Drwal currently leads Lehigh and ranks fifth in the Patriot League with 62.6 receiving yards per game.

The Mountain Hawks continue to lead the Patriot League in red zone defense allowing opponents to have scored on only 11-of-20 chances, or 55.0-percent.  During that time teams have scored eight touchdowns and three field goals versus the Lehigh “D”.

Saturday’s game kicks off just after 1:00 from Andy Kerr Stadium in Hamilton.  It will be shown live on WFMZ-TV, Fox College Sports Atlantic, DirecTV Channel 617 and Lehighsports.com with Steve Degler and Mike Yadush ’93 on the call.  Matt Kerr, Kody Fedorcha ’00 and Matt Markus will provide commentary on the radio broadcast on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320 AM with pre-game coverage getting underway at noon.
