Lehigh places fifth at season opening match

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh competed at the Bucknell Invitational this weekend and the Mountain Hawks finished fifth in the 12-school field shooting a two round score of 600 (305, 295).  Senior Will Robinson led the Brown and White with a 146 (76, 70), which placed him in a tie for eighth place, while freshman Tim Rosenhouse had a strong showing in his collegiate debut with a 150 (76, 74), which was good for a 21st place tie.  Bucknell won the team crown with a score of 572 (286, 286), followed by Canisius (298, 288 = 586), Colgate (300, 292 = 592), Robert Morris (301, 293 = 594) and the Mountain Hawks to round out the top-five.

Other Mountain Hawks that competed throughout the weekend were Shane Gilroy who tied for 29th place with a score of 153 (76, 77), Steve Suarez who tied for 36th place with a 155 (77, 78) and Duncan Zeiders who shot a 155 (81, 74) and also tied for 36th place.

Bucknell’s Jeff Pike was the individual winner with a score of 136 (67, 69), followed by Robert Morris’ C.G. Mercatoris who shot a 72 and a 66 for a total of 138.

Lehigh is back in action on September 20 when the Mountain Hawks head to New York to compete in the Colgate Invitational.
