BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After winning a pair of tough road contests last week, Lehigh returns home on Tuesday evening to take on Atlantic-10 member St. Joseph’s at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks downed Dartmouth on Saturday, 73-60 in New Hampshire for their third straight road win. Junior Zahir Carrington led the way with his second career double-double (15 points, 14 rebounds), while John Gourlay added a season-best eight points, and Prentice Small handed out a career-high nine assists. The win put the finishing touches on the most successful November Lehigh has had since the inception of Patriot League play in 1990. St. Joseph’s spent last week in Hawaii, where the Hawks played a trio of games versus Texas, Indiana, and Alabama at the EA Sports Maui Invitational. A 2007 NCAA Tournament participant, St. Joseph’s will be playing its fifth straight game away from home on Tuesday evening.
Lehigh has swatted six shots in each of its last two games, led by Phil Anderson’s career-high four blocks at Dartmouth. The 12 blocks is Lehigh’s highest two-game total since registering 15 blocked shots in back-to-back games last season against Quinnipiac (10) and Central Connecticut State (5).
The Mountain Hawks have scored 30 points in the last two minutes of games this season, compared to 21 points by their opponents. During that time Lehigh has sank 20-of-27 free throw attempts, while its opponents have shot just 5-for-12 at the charity stripe.
Tuesday’s game tips off at 7:05 from Stabler Arena. Tickets are still available and can be purchased in one of three ways: by calling 610-7LU-GAME, by visiting the Lehigh Athletics Ticket Office, located in Grace Hall, or by logging onto Lehighsports.com.
