Mountain Hawks tie for eighth at Delaware Invite

NEWARK, Del. – Lehigh shot a 623 (310, 313) and tied for eighth overall at the 16-team Delaware Invitational this weekend.  Seniors Will Robinson (78, 75 = 153) and Shane Gilroy (72, 81 = 153) led the Mountain Hawks with identical scores and tied for 16th place overall.  Seton Hall won the overall team crown with a score of 581 (288, 293), and the Pirates were followed by the host Blue Hens (583), Monmouth (614), Drexel (614) and Bucknell and Rutgers who both shot a 615.
Other Lehigh competitors this weekend included Steve Suarez who tied for 38th place after shooting a 157 (80, 77), Doug Marcincin who shot a 160 (80, 80) and tied for 55th place and Duncan Zeiders who shot a 164 (82, 82) and placed 65th.
Colin Smith from Delaware finished first overall with a score of 137 (70, 67), while Seton Hall’s David Thompson was second with a score of 143 (70, 73).
Lehigh is back in action on October 11 when the Mountain Hawks travel to Philadelphia to compete in the Big Five Invitational.
