Mountain Hawks conclude fall season at home

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh closed out its fall season by hosting the Kelly Gutshall Invitational this weekend on the Weyhill Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.  The Mountain Hawks shot a 708 (360, 348) during the two-round event and finished fifth out of seven teams.  Harvard won the team crown with a score of 636 (315, 321) and the Crimson were followed by Towson (337, 334 = 671), Boston College (334, 338 = 672), Penn (339, 346 = 685), Lehigh, Kutztown (381, 350 = 731) and Siena (401, 397 = 798).

Livia Amado was once again the Brown and White’s top finisher as she shot a 160 (81, 79) and placed fifth, while other Mountain Hawks that competed were Ana Nam who tied for 20th place with a 177 (89, 88), Jen Nagel who tied with Nam for 20th (94, 83 = 177), Erika Kretschmann who tied for 36th with a 194 (96, 98) and Taylor Orr, who placed 39th after shooting a 198 (98, 100).  Three other Mountain Hawks entered as individuals, including Caroline Boyer who shot a 181 (92, 89), Jamin Hughes (86, 98 = 184) and Ashley Amador (98, 90 = 188).

Boston College’s Eunice Yim won top medalist honors with a score of 153 (79, 74), while Harvard’s Emily Balmert (76, 80) and Mia Kabasakalis (73, 83) both shot a 156 and tied for second place.

Lehigh opens its spring season on March 21 when the Mountain Hawks head to Williamsburg, Virginia to compete in the First Market Bank Invtiational.
