Lafayette sneaks by Lehigh 1-0

EASTON, Pa.- The Mountain Hawks opened 2007 Patriot League play with a 1-0 loss to rival Lafayette Saturday night in Easton. The lone goal of the game was scored by Luke Sullivan in the 13th minute. The Mountain Hawks fall to 4-2-2 on the season, and 0-1 in the Patriot League, while the Leopards improve their record to 6-1-2 and 1-0 in Patriot League play. The loss snaps the Mountain Hawks six game unbeaten streak, and was their first regular season road loss since September of 2006.
The Leopards found the board early in the game, when Anthony Sepe’s throw in found the head of Sullivan. Sullivan was able to sneak the ball past a diving Brian Lee to pick up his second goal on the season.
Later in the first half,
The score remained at 1-0 going into halftime, with the Leopards out shooting Lehigh 7-2.
The Brown and White came out flying in the second half and almost tied the game on a Patrick Starsinic shot. The defender was able to put a great shot on net, however, Lafayette goalkeeper Philip Nelson knocked the ball away to keep the Leopards in the lead.
