BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh placed four student-athletes on the All-Patriot League field hockey teams announced by the league on Wednesday. Senior midfielder Christy Smith and junior forward Kalynn Davies earned first team all-league honors for the Mountain Hawks, while senior back Terry Mongan and sophomore forward Kelly Fox earned second team accolades. The four selections equaled the 2005 team for the most all-league selections under head coach Julie Mazer.

Smith earns all-league honors in field hockey for the third time in her career, and makes her second consecutive appearance on the first team. Lehigh’s third leading scorer overall with 21 points, Smith saved her best for Patriot League games, where she led the league in scoring with five goals and 13 points.  Smith has three game winning goals this season, and all three propelled the Mountain Hawks to overtime wins in league games. The Downingtown, Pa. native tallied five points in wins over Holy Cross and Colgate and was named Offensive Player of the Week three times this season.

After putting past injury problems behind her, Kalynn Davies emerged with a breakout offensive season for the Brown and White. Her 27 points are tops on the team, while her 12 goals lead the Patriot League. Davies was named Offensive Player of the Week in September, after scoring her first career hat-trick in an overtime win over Georgetown.

Mongan earned second team honors for the second straight year, while serving as an anchor to the Mountain Hawks’ veteran backline. The Malvern, Pa. native started all 17 games at right back, teaming with classmates Lauren Volpe and Stacy Sommerfield to give Lehigh one of the league’s most experienced defensive units.

Fox nets her first all-league selection after racking up 18 points during the regular season. Her eight assists were tops on the team, while the Wilmington, Del. native added five goals, including the game-winner versus Rider on October 10, which capped off a five-point game.

The Patriot League will announce its major award winners on Thursday night and the postseason banquet which precedes this weekend’s Patriot League tournament.

The Mountain Hawks (8-9) are the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will face No. 3 Lafayette in Friday’s second semifinal, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. from American’s William I Jacobs Recreational Complex in Washington, D.C. The game will be broadcast live on Lehighsports.com with streaming audio powered by Yahoo! Sports.
