The two long time rivals played 90 minutes of scoreless soccer, leading to Lehigh’s fifth overtime game of the season. The Mountain Hawks came out and played with a lot of energy but were unable to capitalize on the chances they were creating.
The winning goal came with 2:45 remaining in the first overtime period. Senior Daniela Molina was fouled inside the 18 yard box, and after the penalty was awarded, Lewandowski buried it in the back of the net for her 34th career goal and her school-record 13th game-winning tally. Lewandowski is now three goals behind Lehigh Penske Hall of Famer Dia Johnson Smith ’96 for the top spot on Lehigh’s career goal scoring list.
