PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – After a quick start by the Mountain Hawks, turnovers and hot second half shooting by Drexel proved to be too much for Lehigh as the Mountain Hawks fell to Drexel 62-55 on Sunday afternoon at Daskalakis Athletic Center.  Sophomore Melissa Rich went 7-for-10 from the field as she tied her career-high points total, while senior Sara Ellis netted a season-high 14 points.

Lehigh, 2-3 overall, started out hot early in the first half, using two field goals by Rich, a couple of free throws by senior Sara Ellis and three-pointers by freshman Alex Ross and sophomore Ryan Ingalls to build 12-4 lead over the Dragons in the first six minutes.  However, Drexel cut into the deficit and took a 22-19 lead off a Gabriela Marginean three-pointer.  Rich sank two field goals in the last 2:14 of the half to give the Mountain Hawks a 23-22 lead going into halftime.  Rich led the first half with nine points, going 4-for-6 from the field.

After being held to 25.8 percent shooting, Drexel came out strong in the second half behind the sharpshooting of Narissa Suber, who sank eight straight points within a 43 second time span.  Suber led the way for the Dragons with a game-high 26 points.  The Dragons would go on to shoot 44.4 percent in the second half.

Lehigh travels to Monmouth on Wednesday night in what will be the second of four straight road games for the Mountain Hawks.  Game time is set for 7:00 pm.  Live audio will be broadcast worldwide online at lehighsports.com with streaming provided by Yahoo! Sports.  WLVR-FM will also carry the broadcast in the Lehigh Valley.
