Navy hands Mountain Hawks first league defeat

The Midshipmen scored the only goal of the first half after Lehigh was called for a handball inside the 18-yard box in the 34th minute. Carmen Myers converted the penalty kick for her fourth goal of the season
In the second half Navy added three more scores, two from senior Meggie Curran in the 49th and 74th minutes, sandwiched around a Sam Schroth goal in the 70th minute.
Navy out shot Lehigh 21-11 and had five corners to the Mountain Hawks’ two. Senior Gina Lewandowski led the Brown and White with six shots on the evening. Classmate Daniela Molina added two shots, and juniors Melissa Montalvo and Courtney Jackson and freshman Lauren Glazebrook were credited with one apiece.
Lehigh sophomore goalkeeper Julie Kafka made six saves in a losing effort. Lizzie Barnes made three saves to earn the shutout, before giving way to Beth Reed, who made one save.
With the loss, Lehigh drops to third in the Patriot League standings, two points behind Bucknell. Each Patriot League team has two league games remaining, with the top four teams qualifying for the league tournament.
