ITHACA, N.Y. – Lehigh competed in the Cornell Invitational this weekend, and the Mountain Hawks finished 12th in the 15-team event, shooting a three-round score of 946. Lehigh’s top finishers were Steve Suarez and Matt Denison, who both shot a 232, good for a tie in 36th place. The overall team champion was Rider University, as the Broncs shot an 886. Rounding out the top-five were St. Bonaventure (888), Cornell (892), Ottawa (897) and Bucknell (900). Tyler Brewington of Rider won the individual crown with a score of 215.
Other Mountain Hawk finishers were Shane Gilroy (234), who finished in a tie for 42nd place, Will Robinson (248), who came in a tie for 66th and Jon Abramson (259), who finished in 74th place.
Lehigh will return to action on October 6 when the Mountain Hawks head to Connecticut to compete in the Yale Invitational.
