WASHINGTON , D.C. – Lehigh ended its three-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over Georgetown on Saturday afternoon.  Senior Maureen Harrington scored twice, while classmate Marissa Iannarone assisted on two scores, as the Mountain Hawks improve to 2-4 on the season, and the Hoyas fall to 1-3.

Christy Smith got the Mountain Hawks on the scoreboard with a goal just 2:19 into the game, which was her first goal of the season.  Less than two minutes later, Lehigh went to work again, this time as senior Mary Beth Kuenne scored off of a corner play, assisted by Kelsey Smith and Iannarone, to put the Brown and White ahead 2-0.  Georgetown cut the lead in half at the 14:15 mark, when Katie Lachman scored a goal of her own, and that is how the first half would end, with Lehigh ahead 2-1.

With 18 minutes off the clock in the second stanza, the Hoyas were able to tie the game at two, when Deirdre McShea scored off of a feed from Caitlin Bump and Megan Cellucci at the 52:52 mark.  The Mountain Hawks fought back though, as Harrington scored her first goal of the season at the 56:32 mark off of a Katie Noon assist, and Lehigh regained the lead at 3-2.  Harrington then scored her second goal of the contest, as Iannarone picked up another assist, this time with just over 11 minutes left in the game, and Lehigh was in control en route to the win.

For the game, Lehigh had 15 shots, as did the Hoyas, while the Mountain Hawks had just two cornes compared to Georgetown’s seven.  In goal for Lehigh, Meghan Gove sent back five Hoya shots, while Deirdre Crovo saw the majority of time in cage for Georgetown and stopped four Mountain Hawk shots.

Lehigh returns to action on Wednesday evening when the Mountain Hawks travel to Baltimore, Md. to take on the Retrievers of UMBC.  Game time is set for 7:00.
