BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh senior quarterback Mark Borda was recognized once again on Tuesday for his role in Lehigh’s come-from-behind win over Yale on Saturday.  After being named the Patriot League’s offensive player of the week on Monday, Borda can now add regional accolades to that list.   On Tuesday, Borda was named the co-offensive player of the week by the ECAC.

Thanks in large part to Borda’s efforts, Lehigh put 22 unanswered points on the board en route to a 28-21 victory.  Borda, the Patriot League’s preseason offensive player of the year, was 31-of-46 through the air for 333 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday before leaving the game with a serious leg injury that will likely end his season.

Borda is 137-of-212 through the air in 2005, a 64.6% completion rate.  Through six games, he has thrown for 1602 yards and 12 touchdowns.  The senior captain ranks 17th nationally in total offense, posting an average of 272.2 yards per game.

He currently ranks second in Lehigh history with a career completion percentage of 64.45%.

Lehigh (4-2 overall, 0-1 Patriot League) returns to the gridiron on Saturday, October 22, when the Mountain Hawks resume league play at Bucknell.  Kick-off is set for just after 1:00 from Lewisburg, Pa., and all the action can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320, as well as on lehighsports.com with ninth-year veteran Matt Kerr and Kody Fedorcha ‘00.
