Mountain Hawks roll over Army in Conference opener

After a scoreless first half, Lehigh got on the board in the 53rd minute when Gina Lewandowski headed Jocelyn Helwig’s corner kick into the back of the net. The Goal was the sophomore’s sixth of the season and 17th of her career, moving her into second place on the Mountain Hawks all time goal scoring list. “She had a great performance,” said coach Manny Oudin. “When she finds the ball, things just start to click for us.”
The Mountain Hawks’ second goal would also come off a corner, as freshman Melissa Montalvo scored off a scramble at the near post to make it a 2-0 game in the 79th minute. Lewandowski followed with her second goal of the match two minutes later.
“It’s as close to a full performance as we’ve had all year,” Oudin said, in reference to his desire to see the team put together a full 90 minute effort.
Senior Erin Iwaskiewicz recorded the shutout, posting three saves.
The Mountain Hawks return to the pitch Tuesday afternoon when they visit St. Francis (PA). Game time set for 4:00 from
