Binghamton outlasts Mountain Hawks, 1-0

Both teams played strong defense in the first 45 minutes of action, as neither team was able to find the back of the net. The Bearcats dented the scoreboard in the 60th minute, however, in what proved to be the lone goal of the match.
That goal propelled the BU squad to victory, as the lead held up.
“We had a number of chances to finish, particularly in the second half,” Lehigh head coach Manny Oudin said after the match. “Unfortunately, today we could’nt put them away. It’s especially tough, though, when you have 16 shots and can’t come away with the score. Nevertheless, we’ll come out hard on Sunday and be ready to go.”
Lehigh had six corner kicks to just two for the Bearcats on the night. Senior captain Erin Iwaskiewicz continued her strong play in goal, notching six saves in 90 minutes of action. Bignhamton’s Katie Bowers registered six stops as well.
