Mountain Hawks drop Lafayette, tie school wins record

Lehigh got on the board in the 13th minute, when freshman Melissa Montalvo scored off a pretty feed from Helwig to make the score 1-0 in favor of Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks added a second score as freshman Jen Fetsick scored off a Helwig feed to take a 2-0 advantage into halftime. The helpers were Helwig’s fifth and sixth of the season.
In the second half, Lehigh iced the match as sophomore Gina Lewandowski scored on a rare penalty kick opportunity. The goal was her team-leading tenth of the season.
Lehigh was dominant from the get-go, out-shooting the Leopards 13-3 for the match. The Mountain Hawks had eight corners, while the Leopards didn’t have any. Senior captain Erin Iwaskiewicz played the entire 90 minutes in net, and she was credited with two saves. The shutout was her Patriot League-leading fifth of the season.
