Hamilton, NY – Lehigh went to New York on Saturday afternoon and kept the game versus Colgate close for the first half, but in the end the Raiders pulled away for a 4-0 win.  With the loss, Lehigh falls to 7-8 on the season, 0-3 in league action, while Colgate improves to 10-4 overall, 3-1 in Patriot League play.

Colgate scored its first goal of the game when Kath Shelley took a pass from Nancy Miller at the 19:42 mark and found the back of the net to put the Raiders in front 1-0.  The two teams then battled for the remainder of the first half and the score stayed 1-0 in favor of Colgate heading into halftime.

The Raiders then started the second half with another goal on a penalty shot by Sally Mazzocchi just three minutes into the half and the score was 2-0.  Sarah McCarthy took a pass from Shelley at the 43:11 mark and after a scramble in front of the goal slipped one past the Lehigh goalie for a 3-0 lead.  Shelley then scored her second goal of the game on a pass from Miller with just two minutes remaining in the contest and the Raiders upped their lead to four goals.

In goal for Lehigh, Meghan Gove stopped four Raider shots before giving way to Jeanine Hoff who sent back six shots of her own in 25 minutes of work.  Colgate goal keeper Jacque DeMarco sent back six shots by the Mountain Hawks.  Lehigh was outshot 28-12 on the afternoon and had five penalty corners to the Raiders seven.  Freshman Katie Noon and senior Sheila Clabby led Lehigh with three shots on the day.

Lehigh returns to action on Wednesday when the Mountain Hawks travel to New Jersey to take on Rider.  Game time is set for 4:00.
