Bethlehem, PA – After defeating Brown earlier in the afternoon, No. 8 Lehigh (12-3, 3-0 EIWA) extended its winning streak to eight in a row, with a 30-11 win over Harvard.
The match started out at 174, with junior Brad Dillon picking up his second win of the day with a 5-2 decision. Freshman Travis Frick followed with a 3-1 decision before Jon Trenge was awarded his second forfeit victory of the day. A 5-2 decision by junior Joe Sahl at heavyweight made the score 15-0. The Crimson tried to turn the tide as junior Mario Stuart lasted only 0:51 seconds at 125. Freshman Cory Cooperman grabbed the momentum back with a 12-2 major decision at 133. After senior Tristan Boyd picked up a 5-2 decision and sophomore Aaron Kling lost by technical fall, Lehigh would finish out the match by winning final two bouts. Freshman Derek Zinck picked up his second win of the day with a 5-2 decision before classmate Troy Letters gained a technical fall to end the afternoon.
"We were trying to set the stage for Easterns," head coach Greg Strobel said after picking up a pair of wins less than 24 hours after notching the 100th of his career. "We got up for Navy and stayed up for Brown and Harvard. It was also nice to wrestle at home after such a long road trip."
The Mountain Hawks return to action on Thursday when they travel to Princeton, looking for their ninth straight victory.
