Hempstead, NY – Lehigh dropped its second contest of the season Saturday evening at the Hofstra/Wingate Inn Holiday Tournament by falling to Hofstra 63-50. The game saw both teams shoot poorly from three-point land, going a combined 6-39 from outside the arc. Lehigh (2-2) was led by Matt Crawford who tallied 13 points and nine rebounds in just 24 minutes of action. Matt Logie notched 12 points, however, the senior from Mercer Island, Washington didn’t get on the scoreboard until the 12:00 mark of the second half. Zlatko Savovic led the Mountain Hawks with 8 assists, while Ra Tiah posted eight boards. For the Hofstra Pride (1-2), Kenny Adeleke did major damage to the Lehigh defense. Andeleke posted a game high 23 points in 35 minutes, going 10-17 from the floor, and pulling down 14 rebounds. Osei Millar also managed double digits, posting 10 points in 20 minutes of action. "We rushed a lot of shots," said head coach Billy Taylor. "It’s the first time we have done anything like that this year. Hofstra took advantage defensively and made the most of their chances. Tomorrow’s going to come quick and we need to be ready." Lehigh will face Texas Pan-American in the consolation contest tomorrow at 12:00 p.m., while Hofstra and Quinnipiac will square off in the final at 2:00 p.m. Top Performers
