Lehigh loses close one to St. Joseph's

Philadelphia, PA – Lehigh lost a hard fought 1-0 contest to St. Joseph’s on Friday night. The loss drops the Mountain Hawks to 1-4 on the season while St. Joseph’s goes to 2-1. The game was scoreless at halftime and remained that way until 8:38 remained in the game and St. Joseph’s was able to strike. Nicole Antonini scored the game’s lone goal off a feed from Katelyn O’Brien, and it proved to be the game winner.
Junior Jeanine Hoff got the start in goal for Lehigh and shut out the Hawks in the first half, picking up three saves along the way. Sophomore Meghan Gove then replaced Hoff in the second half and was just as stingy, recording five saves in net. Maureen Harrington led Lehigh with two shots on goal, followed by Kirsten Wyche, Kristi Miller, and Marissa Iannarone with one apiece. For the game, St. Joseph’s out shot Lehigh 11-6.
Lehigh returns to action on Sunday when the Mountain Hawks play host to Siena at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Game time is set for 2:00 and can be heard live at www.lehigh.edu.
