Mazer announces assistants for 2003 season

Lehigh head coach Julie Mazer has announced her assistant coaches for the upcoming 2003 season. The newest Mountain Hawk coaches are Becky Kohler, Missy Grosman and Kandiss Kulp.
      Missy Grosman enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Mountain Hawks. A 1997 graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelor’s in physical education, Grosman was a member of both the field hockey and basketball teams. Twice, during her senior season, Grosman was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Week in field hockey.
      Grosman, who graduated from nearby Emmaus High School in 1998, comes to Lehigh from Corcoran High School in New York, where she served as an assistant coach on the girl’s varsity basketball team.
      Becky Kohler begins her first season as a volunteer assistant for the Mountain Hawks. She arrives in South Bethlehem after having graduated from Syracuse University in 2002 with a bachelor’s in psychology. While at Syracuse, Kohler was voted the Preseason Big East Defensive Player of the Year, was a two-time First-team All-Big East selection, as well as a member of the 2002 Coach’s Association National Academic Squad. She also served as team captain for her junior and senior seasons. Kohler went to Palmyra High School in Pennsylvania.
      Kandiss Kulp begins her first season as a graduate assistant with Lehigh. Kulp comes to South Bethlehem from Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, where she taught biology, and also served as the head field hockey and lacrosse coach. Prior to Perkiomen, Kulp was a graduate assistant at Kutztown University. She has also worked as an assistant coach at Fairfield University and a physical education teacher at Green Farms Academy in Westport, Connecticut.
      Kulp was a four-year starter at Fairfield University and while there was named the Patriot League Player of the Year and also a second team regional All-American. Kulp graduated from Fairfield in 2000 with her bachelor’s in Biology. She is currently pursuing her master’s from Lehigh in biology.
