Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh junior tight end Adam Bergen has been recognized for his stellar play for the third time in as many days.  Wednesday, Bergen was selected to the Associated Press All-America Second Team.  Earlier in the week, Bergen was named to The Sports Network’s All-America team, and was also recognized as an honorable mention ECAC All-Star.

Bergen led Lehigh and ranked third in the Patriot League with 70 catches for 840 yards in 2003.  He averaged 12 yards per catch, and posted a team-high six touchdown receptions last season.  Last month, Bergen was named to the All-Patriot League First Team, an honor voted on by the league’s coaches.

The Mountain Hawks were 8-3 on the season, and 6-1 in Patriot League play.  Lehigh’s only league setback came at undefeated Colgate, who will participate in Friday night’s national championship game.  Lehigh posted its sixth consecutive eight-plus win season for the first time in the storied program’s history.
