Scoring drought continues in Lehigh loss

10/15/2003 12:00:00 AM | Women's Soccer

Towson, MD – The scoring drought continued Thursday afternoon, as Lehigh (7-5, 1-2) fell to Towson (4-7) 1-0 in overtime. Tiffany Wilson broke a scoreless tie with a header off a corner kick with just 30 seconds left in the first overtime to give the Tigers the win.

The Mountain Hawks have not scored a goal in the last two games as they have dropped consecutive 1-0 decisions. Lehigh was outshot in the game 11-6, and Towson also had the advantage in corner kicks, 6-2.

Two of Towson’s corners occurred right at the end of the first overtime period, and on the second Wilson headed the ball perfectly into the upper left-hand corner of the net. Erin Iwaskiewicz kept the Mountain Hawks in the game for most of the day with four saves on the afternoon.

Lehigh continues its season next Wednesday as it travels to Monmouth. Game time is set for 3:30.
