Lehigh dominates, but falls at Bucknell

Lehigh (7-4, 1-2) held Bucknell (5-3-1, 1-1-1) to exactly one shot on goal the entire game – but it was a shot that found the back of the net, which is something the Mountain Hawks could not manage to do. Lehigh outshot Bucknell 9-1 on the afternoon.
The day started off poorly for the Mountain Hawks as their bus arrived two-and-a-half hours late, pushing back the start of the game by 90 minutes. Head coach Manny Oudin said the travel was definitely a factor. “We had 20 minutes to warm up,” said Oudin. “I think it definitely weighed on the players minds. Having said that, this was still a game we should have won. We had plenty of good scoring opportunities, but just didn’t take advantage of them. The defense played pretty well. I mean, you hold a team to one shot, you expect to win.”
Bucknell scored the game’s only goal on a deflection off the back of defender Kerry Fitz-Patrick off a cross at the 50:17 mark in the second half. Jocelyn Helwig and Lauren Fornuto each had two shots on goal for the Mountain Hawk offense.
