Campus Athletics Club Sports Intramural Sports Fitness Classes Gym Hours
Taylor Gym is home to the Lehigh Athletic Department offices, Campus Athletics and Sports Medicine. Taylor Gym is a 10,000 sq ft, five story building that is open nearly 16 hours a day. Opened in 1914 and renovated in 1989 and 1995, Taylor Gym is one of the most active and oldest buildings on Lehigh’s campus.
The central hub to the Lehigh Athletics department, most sport programs call the third floor of Taylor home. The Penske/Lehigh Athletics Hall of Fame is located on the second floor as you enter through the main entrance on Taylor Street. The Jacobs and Morrissey Pools wing each end of the building on the second and third floors. On the fifth floor in the space formerly occupied by the old wrestling practice room, sits a newly renovated and technologically advanced fitness area, creating expanded fitness opportunities for students and staff.
The Welch Fitness Center is located in Taylor Gym and serves as Lehigh's main recreation center for students and staff. The facility also contains:
- Racquetball courts
- Basketball courts
- Dance studio
- Two fitness class areas
- Lane climbing wall
- Locker rooms
- Jacobs and Morrissey Pools
