In 2003-04: Overcame early struggles to come on very strong at the end of the season, winning an EIWA title at 184 and earning his first All-American stripes … 24-9 record overall, but finished the regular season on a 10-match win streak … pinned Ed Magrys of Eastern Michigan with one second remaining in first match at NCAAs … victory over defending NCAA champ Jake Rosholt at Stillwater best win of the season
In 2002-03: Placed third at EIWA championships ... has compiled a 22-7 record in his freshman campaign ... ranked as high as No. 9 in the nation … seeded 11th at NCAA’s
In 2001-02: Deferred his eligibility … finished fifth at the Junior World Trials … won the Edinboro open and finished 5-1 on the season.
In secondary school: Rated number two nationally by InterMat at 171… posted a 42-0 record as a senior winning districts, regional, and state championships… did not yield a takedown his entire senior season… was 118-29 in his career… earned second team High School All-American accolades… as a junior finished fourth in the state losing to Troy Letters in the semifinals.
Personal: Son of Mike and Linda Frick… father Mike was a two time national champion and three-time All-American for Lehigh… Mike is a member of the Lehigh Athletics Hall of Fame and was the Outstanding Wrestler of the 1975 NCAA Championships… Travis’ uncle Jim Frick was a two-time EIWA runner-up.
