Why Lehigh? “It was the best fit for me. Close to home with the best combination of wrestling and academics.”
In 2019-20: Earned starting spot at 133… qualified for first NCAA Tournament with runner-up finish at EIWA Championships… lone fall of season avenged earlier loss to Army’s Andrew Wert in EIWA quarterfinals… went 2-2 at Journeymen Collegiate Classic… won Mat Town Invitational II in late February.
In 2018-19: Began season at 125 before moving up to 133… went 3-0 to win his pool at Journeymen Collegiate Classic… started Lehigh’s dual opener at 125 at Michigan… placed eighth at 133 at the Southern Scuffle in early January.
In 2017-18: Went 10-5 at 133… filled in as starter for seven duals when All-American Scott Parker was sidelined… opened season with third place finish at Princeton Open… went 2-1 at Journeymen Collegiate Classic… defeated Penn’s Gianni Ghione 5-1 in dual debut… picked up only fall of season in dual win over American.
In 2016-17: Deferred eligibility… went 18-8 competing unattached in open tournaments…placed in five open tournaments, highlighted by 133 pound title at Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic… finished fourth at East Stroudsburg Open, Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open and Wilkes Open… dropped down to 125 to finish third at Edinboro Open… also competed at F&M.
In high school: four-time district and regional champion… four-time state qualifier… three-time place winner taking sixth, sixth and third at state tournament… went 39-5 as a senior at 132… finished with 135-25 career record… Beast of the East and Powerade Tournament runner-up as a senior… member of the New Jersey national freestyle team… Fargo All-American, placing sixth in 2015.
Personal: Son of Vinny and Marianne… brother Vinny (25) and sister Luciana (19).
