In 2008-09: Filled in for injured John McDonald at 125 for nine duals before suffering season-ending injury versus Drexel… posted impressive win over West Virginia’s Kyle Turnbull for lone dual win…competed at East Stroudsburg and Nittany Lion Opens.
In 2007-08: Despite walking onto the team over the summer, started as a true freshman at 125 in 22 of 26 dual meets… won first collegiate match at Kaufman-Brand Open… beat Nathan Myers of Brown in sudden victory for first dual meet win…added victory over Ilyass Elmsaouri of Rider.
 
In secondary school: Earned four varsity letters… captained team as junior and senior… won District 21 championship and qualified for state tournament as a senior… earned NJSIAA Scholar-Athlete Award.
 
Personal: Son of Jonathan and Sandra Berger… brothers Jeremy (23) and Sam (16)… holds a 3.15 grade point average.
