Why Lehigh? “I chose Lehigh University first, because it is a phenomenal academic institution and a Lehigh degree will give me a great opportunity to succeed in my respective field. Secondly, I chose Lehigh for the tremendous athletic opportunity it gave me to wrestle. The coaches, facilities, support, and tradition were all key factors in my decision.”
In 2019-20: Wrestled seven official bouts, going 2-5… competed primarily at 165… both victories came at Princeton Open… made only dual appearance at 174 against Duke at South Beach Duals.
In 2018-19: Went 5-6 in 11 bouts… competed in three duals, wrestling in dual opener at 157 and two second semester duals at 165… beat Penn’s Neil Antrassian in dual finale… went 1-2 at Journeymen Collegiate Classic… competed at Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic.
In 2017-18: Competed at Journeymen Collegiate Classic and Wilkes Open… won five of seven bouts with all five wins scoring bonus points… took second at Wilkes Open down at 149 in December… opened Wilkes Open with 18 second fall, fastest of the year for a Lehigh wrestler.
In 2016-17: Competed in five duals at 157… posted 9-5 overall record with three falls… finished third at East Stroudsburg Open… went 3-0 in his pool at Journeymen Collegiate Classic… made dual debut at Penn State… picked up first dual win against Princeton’s Mike D’Angelo…went 1-1 at Southern Scuffle.
In 2015-16: Deferred eligibility… went 17-11 competing unattached in open tournaments… competed at 149 for most of the season before moving up to 157 late… placed fourth at 149 at Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open… finished fourth at 157 at Shorty Hitchcock Classic… also competed at East Stroudsburg, Nittany Lion, Franklin & Marshall and Edinboro Opens… had three late-season pins.
In secondary school: 2015 PIAA AA champion at 145… also placed second and sixth at state tournament… three-time district and regional champion…. Posted 145-13 career record with 72 falls… three-time FloNationals All-American… two-time Escape the Rock runner-up… ranked in the top 100 of his class by FloWrestling…. 2012 Cadet Freestyle All-American… state champion in freestyle and Greco-Roman… honor roll student… District IV All-Academic team selection… PA Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Team.
Personal: Son of Kent and Colleen… brother Jaret… enjoys the outdoors, reading and spending time with friends.
