Why Lehigh: “It had all I was looking for with accordance to academics as well as athletics. I am looking forward to majoring in mechanical engineering and Lehigh has one of the best engineering programs in the country. I was recruited to wrestle and I am very fortunate as well as grateful to be wrestling for a top ten nationally ranked Division 1 wrestling program.”
In 2008-09: Posted 7-7 record, competing primarily in open tournaments… picked up first career varsity dual win, 6-5 decision over Appalachian State’s Dylan Temple at Northeast Duals… two of seven victories were by fall… competed at Buffalo, East Stroudsburg, Nittany Lion and Edinboro Opens.
In 2007-08: Thrust into the starting lineup midseason at 184… displayed tremendous athleticism but lacked college wrestling experience… picked up only win of season at East Stroudsburg Open… went 0-2 at both University Nationals and the Northeast Regional tournament.
In secondary school: Holds career and single season win records at Fordham Prep… undefeated in the CHSAA in last two years of high school… placed fifth in the state at 189 as a junior… Cadet and Junior nationals qualifier... four year member of Principal’s honor roll.
Personal: Son of Denise Davis… brothers Patrick Stanford (23), Solomon Ellis (15) and Quinton Ellis (9)… enjoys football, basketball and track.
