In 2011-12: Deferred eligibility while moving up to 157… went 31-6 competing unattached in open tournaments… named Lehigh’s Deferred Eligibility Wrestler of the Year… won titles at the TCNJ Open, Mat Town Invitational and Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic… opened season with second place finish at Knight Point Clarion Open… went 2-2 but did not place at the Midlands Championships.
In 2010-11: Came on late in the season to place fifth in the EIWA, qualifying for first NCAA tournament… went 1-2 in first NCAA appearance, pinning No. 11 seed Andrew Nadhir of Northwestern in the first round, before dropping an overtime decision to No. 6 seed Jason Chamberlain of Boise State… finished season with 18-13 record…signature win was dominant 7-2 decision over Mario Mason of Rutgers in February dual… went 1-2 at Midlands Championships…finished the year with three falls and five bonus wins… named to NWCA All-Academic Team.In 2009-10: Assumed starting spot at 149 mid-season and represented Lehigh at the EIWA Championships… won 21 bouts with four falls as a true freshman… placed third at the Knight Point Clarion Open in November and at the Nittany Lion Open in December… made varsity dual debut at Northeast Duals in November… beat Quentin Fuentes of Oklahoma State for first dual win in Virginia Duals final… competed in freestyle at Junior Nationals and University Nationals in April.
In secondary school: Two-time state finalist and 2008 PIAA AAA Champion … went 45-1 at 145 as a senior with the only loss coming in the state finals … won the Senior High School National Championship in Virginia Beach … ranked ninth in the nation among other senior recruits by InterMat … the third NHSCA Champion to attend Lehigh out of high school.
Personal: Son of Joe and Lynne… sister Carmela (24) and brother Gary (22)… owns a 3.39 grade point average.
