Sarah Dwyer begins her first season as the graduate assistant coach for the Lehigh women’s soccer program. Dwyer comes to Lehigh following a strong playing career at Penn State, where she helped lead the Nittany Lions to regional and national prominence.

 

Dwyer was a four-year member of the Nittany Lion soccer team that won four Big Ten championships from 2003-06 and reached the Final Four in her junior season when Penn State posted a 23-0-2 record. A native of Califon, New Jersey, Dwyer appeared in 85 games for the Nittany Lions, starting 45 games in the midfield. Dwyer finished with six goals and 12 assists for 24 points in her career. Her best season was her senior campaign of 2006 where Dwyer started 19 games, scored four goals and dished out five assists for 13 points. Dwyer was named All-Freshman Mid-Atlantic Region in 2003 and was also named to the All-Big Ten Tournament Team in 2006.

 

A four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Dwyer earned her degree in Economics from Penn State in 2007. She worked as an assistant broker for ICAP Capital Markets, PLC for two years, while also enjoying a stint as head junior varsity girls soccer coach at the Pingry School. Dwyer is currently pursuing her MBA at Lehigh.
