Former All-Patriot League performer and team captain Billy Johns ‘18 is in his third season on the men’s golf coaching staff. Johns joined the staff in January 2020 and serves as the program’s assistant coach He will work with head coach Henry D’Alberto on the course and in student-athlete recruitment.
Johns spent the 2018-19 season as a graduate assistant with the Lehigh women’s golf team. He served as a team captain for the Lehigh men’s team and earned second team All-Patriot League honors as a senior in 2018.
As a freshman, Johns became the first Lehigh player to win a full field event since 2004 when he earned medalist honors at the Wildcat Invitational. In his senior season, Johns tied with teammate Johnny Hsu as the medalist at the Lehigh Invitational. Johns led Lehigh in three tournaments in 2017-18.
A native of John’s Creek, Ga., Johns was a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering in May, 2018 and is currently pursuing his master’s in mechanical engineering with a focus in aerospace engineering.
