Stacey Blue is entering her first season as full-time assistant coach for the Mountain Hawks field hockey program. Blue, a former team captain at the University of Massachusetts, comes to Lehigh after serving as an assistant coach at Wilkes University last season, and Muhlenberg College the previous two years.
A four-year letterwinner at UMass who served as team captain her senior season, Blue helped lead the Minutewomen to three Atlantic 10 championships and three consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearances. Blue was also named to the A-10 All Tournament team in 2001.
A native of
Blue becomes the second full-time assistant coach in Lehigh field hockey history. Her appointment was made possible in part thanks to the generosity of Lehigh Penske Hall of Fame member Murray H. Goodman ’48. In October 2004, Goodman pledged a $5 million gift to the Athletics Department as part of the university-wide "Shine Forever: The Campaign for Lehigh” fundraising effort.
