Why Lehigh?: “Because I wanted to get a good education at a school with a favorable location and a good wrestling program.”
In 2008-09: Emerged as starter at 197 as true freshman, posting impressive 20-12 record… earned No. 3 seed at EIWA tournament but was forced to withdraw after one match with a shoulder injury… placed sixth at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational… was ranked in the top-20 nationally for part of the season… overtime win over Eric Chine cemented Lehigh’s victory over Kent State at the Virginia Duals.
In secondary school: Won state title as a senior at 189… went 44-1 in his senior season including four wins over the defending state champion… placed fifth in the state as a junior with 40-6 season record… ranked in the top 150 nationally by InterMat… represented Pennsylvania in 2008 Dapper Dan Classic.
Personal: Son of Kevin and Virginia Kennedy… brother Dan (20) and sister Marygrace (16)… enjoys fishing, swimming and spending time with friends.
