Why Lehigh?:  “I chose Lehigh because of the business school and the great wrestling program. Lehigh also has a great location and very interesting people.”

 

In 2006-07: Qualified for first NCAA tournament with fourth place finish at EIWA Championships… went 1-2 at Nationals, with both losses coming to eventual All-Americans… recorded four falls including one in each end of a Saturday sweep of EIWA foes Harvard and Brown… won thrilling 6-5 tiebreaker decision over Nathan Galloway of Penn State, scrambling his way out of several takedown attempts.

 

In 2005-06: Bumped up two weight classes to fill in for injured Troy Letters… four wins included 6-4 decision over EIWA placewinner Shawn Kitchner of Brown and 12-7 win over highly touted Alton Lucas of Hofstra…scored several takedowns on NCAA runner-up Ryan Churella of Michigan before being pinned…also lost close 6-5 decision to EIWA runner-up Steve Anceravage of Cornell.

 

In 2004-05: Starter at 149 during middle portion of the season… rallied from four points down in the final minute to force overtime, then scored a takedown to defeat Jack Decker of Penn State 7-5 in first varsity dual match… finished season with four dual wins… Placed fifth at East Stroudsburg Open, including 5-3 win over teammate Trevor Chinn in consolation bracket… also competed at West Virginia Open, where he amassed a 3-2 record.

 

In 2003-04:   Deferred eligibility…competed at Trenton State, Penn State and Cleveland State Opens

 

In secondary school: Two time Maryland state champion, winning at 140 pounds in 2002 and 152 the following year…Finished high school career with 97-21 record 52 falls…66-3 with 39 pins in final two years, including perfect 35-0 record as a senior.

 

Personal: Son of Ken and Linda Nakasone… twin brother Mark wrestles for McDaniel College (Md.)… enjoys traveling and the outdoors.
