Why Lehigh?: “Basically, Lehigh has a solid academic and wrestling reputation. It’s a top-10 wrestling program and has a lot of prestige. I attended some matches growing up and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Grace Hall and the overall feel of the program.”
In 2002-03: Won EIWA championship at 174...placed seventh at Midlands...in the midst of a 17 dual match win-streak...ranked No. 7 in the nation at 174…missed NCAA finals on a controversial overtime ride-out defeat to eventual champion Robbie Walker of Oklahoma; defeated #2 seed Chris Pendleton in quarterfinals; defeated NCAA 2nd, Carl Fronhofer, in dual vs. Pitt.
In 2001-02: The starter all season long at 174, Dillon posted an impressive 18-7 overall record… injured ligaments in his knee in the last week of the regular season and was unable to compete in EIWAs or NCAAs… went 2-0 at National Duals with wins over 13th ranked Michael Barger of Oklahoma and Chris Petrie of Arizona State… only Lehigh wrestler other than Rob Rohn to go 2-0 at National Duals.
In 2000-01: After certifying at 165, Brad returned to 174 where he claimed a starting berth in early January … put together a 19-10 record before suffering a third-degree shoulder dislocation vs. NCAA runner-up Maurice Worthy … had a number of close bouts in nearly a dozen battles vs. Top 30 wrestlers and earned a National Duals win over All-American Ati Connor of Nebraska.
In 1999-00: Deferred eligibility… finished second at the Senior Level Northeast Olympic Trials in Brockport, New York at 167 lbs. … finished third at East Stroudsburg Tournament at 157 lbs and fourth at Edinboro Tournament at 157 lbs. … placed third at Trenton State Tournament …
In secondary school: Finished 125-25 in his high school career, was 41-2 and third in the state as a senior at 135 lbs … won District and Regional XI championships as a senior, beating collegiate teammate Tom Rohn in each final … placed fifth in Pennsylvania at 103 lbs. for Emmaus High School as a sophomore, before transferring.
Personal: Son of Joanne and Tom Dillon … sister, Tara … enjoys lifting … worked out in high school with former Lehigh and Olympic champion Bobby Weaver.
