Why Lehigh?: “Lehigh was the best school I applied to, and the mix of academics and athletics really appealed to me. Plus, I’m from here originally and I have a lot of family in the area.”
Bishop on Strobel: “Coach Strobel is the best coach in the country, if not the world. He has so much experience, and he is just a great resource for us as wrestlers.”
In 2002-03: Deferred eligibility, competed at Jr, World Trials, 4th at Trenton Open
In Secondary School: Ranked in Ohio three years of high school…placed in every tournament he ever entered, including wins at the Reynoldsburg Duals in both his junior and senior years…Bishop was also a high school standout in soccer, and considered coming to play at Lehigh before decided to focus on wrestling.
Personal: Son of Ben and Anne Bishop…has two sisters Kristy, 21, and Lizzy, 17, and a younger brother Bradley, 11.
Strobel on Bishop: “It’s neat to have a wrestler with his family history. He is really starting to come on strong as a wrestler, and I am so pleased with his progress.”
