Why Lehigh? “Lehigh was the perfect fit to receive a top-notch degree and continue my wrestling career.”
In 2010-11: Helped make 184 one of Lehigh’s strongest weights, going 25-9 in a reserve role… eight of 25 victories were by fall… placed in six out of seven open tournaments he entered including titles at the East Stroudsburg Open, Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic and Edinboro Open… made varsity dual debut at Virginia Duals, winning 6-2 decision over Brett Miller of UNC Greensboro… named Lehigh Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the Year at annual Lewis Dinner.
In 2009-10: Enjoyed success open tournaments, placing in three of the six opens he entered… placed fourth at Knight Point Clarion Open, East Stroudsburg Open and Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic… also competed at UB, Mat Town and National Collegiate Opens.
In 2008-09: Deferred eligibility… amassed 16-17 record competing in open tournaments… placed fourth at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial tournament in January… shared seventh place at East Stroudsburg Open with teammate Kadeem Samuels…also competed in Buffalo, Mat Town, Nittany Lion, Wilkes, Edinboro and Clarion Opens.
In secondary school: In secondary school: Two-time Ohio place winner… 96-45 career record… placed fourth at 189 as a junior and seventh as a senior… went 45-12 in final season… also lettered as a linebacker on the football field.
Personal: Son of Chris (Lehigh ’79) and Laurie Bailey… brother Chris (27) and sisters Melissa (26) and Lizzy (23)... owns a 3.71 cumulative GPA.
