Why Lehigh? “Lehigh has a great atmosphere and I felt at home here.”
In 2017-18: Limited to just six bouts due to injury… went 2-1 at Journeymen Collegiate Classic and 1-2 in dual meet competition… pinned Penn’s Ryan Farber in 1:11 for lone dual win.
In 2016-17: Won starting spot at 165 in February and represented Mountain Hawks at EIWA and NCAA Championships… earned at-large berth to NCAA Championships after eighth place showing at EIWAs… went 1-2 in first NCAA appearance… 20-11 record included 12 bonus wins… shared first place honors at Wilkes Open… won Edinboro Open in February… top Lehigh finisher at 165 at Southern Scuffle with fifth place finish… made varsity debut at Journeymen Collegiate Classic… wrestled in Lehigh’s dual meets at Navy and vs. Cornell… finished with six falls including two in EIWA Tournament.
In 2015-16: Deferred eligibility… posted impressive 20-5 record in open tournament competition… placed in all four open tournaments he entered, highlighted by second place finish at Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open… took third at East Stroudsburg Open… spent most of season at 157 but finished fourth at 165 at Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic… competed at Midlands Championships, going 1-2.
In secondary school: Four-time state place winner (1st, 3rd, 7th, 3rd) … capped his career with a 161-15 record… won a state title at 160 in 41-1 senior season… three-time regional champion and four-time district titlist… freestyle and Greco-Roman state champion and a three-time Fargo All-American… two-time PowerAde finalist and finished fourth at the Super 32 tournament… finalist at FloNationals… ranked 45th overall and fifth at his weight class by FloWrestling and 71st overall by InterMat.
Personal: Son of Doug and Tonya… brothers Ty and Luke… enjoys the outdoors.
