NEWARK, N.J. - The Lehigh Mountain Hawks extended their win streak to two as they took down the NJIT Highlanders 2-1 on Wednesday night in Newark.

The first half was a scoreless battle between the teams, with Lehigh leading in shots 11-4, while NJIT led 3-2 in shots on goal.

In the 62nd minute, first-year Savannah Conner scored her first collegiate goal off an assist from junior Aminah Baruwa to put the Mountain Hawks up 1-0.

Lehigh maintained momentum, with senior Sophia Lis scoring a goal off an assist from first-year Eden Freeman-Warren, extending Lehigh's lead to 2-0 in the 64th minute.

NJIT's Sofia Mignon stopped Lehigh's run by tallying a goal in the 67th minute, as Lehigh led 2-1

Senior goalkeeper Maggie Ousouljoglou played the first half in net, recording three saves. Sophomore R'Reeyah Mabry-Francis subbed in for the second half, making two saves. NJIT also split halves between keepers, with Enya Carthy recording two saves in the first half and Mojisola Ayodele making one in the second.

Lehigh (2-2) returns to action on Thursday September 4 as the Mountain Hawks host Drexel at 6 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex
