Lehigh Finishes Fourth at Columbia's Roar-EE Invitational

KINGSTON, N.Y. – Playing in its final tournament before next weekend's Patriot League Championship, the Lehigh men's golf team finished fourth out of 10 teams at Columbia's Roar-EE Invitational Saturday at Wiltwyck Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks carded rounds of 295 and even par 288 to finish the one-day, 36-hole event at seven over par 583.

Junior Aiden LeBlanc was the top finisher for Lehigh, tying for third place at two under par 142 (68-74). LeBlanc's opening round 68 was the low round of the day for the Mountain Hawks. He added two birdies in his second-round 74.

First-year Noah Zyung and sophomore Matthew Quinn tied for 14th place at three over par 147. Zyung shot 74-72, with three birdies in round two, while Quinn, competing as an individual, followed a morning 69 with an afternoon 78.

Junior Jake Roth carded rounds of 73 and 75 to tie for 18th place at four over par 148. Roth's second round included four birdies.

Senior Aidan Oehrle led Lehigh in round two, making seven birdies and shooting two under par 70. Paired with a morning 80, Oehrle tied for 28th place at 150.

Junior Will Caronchi tied for 33rd place at 151 (79-72). Caronchi's second round 72 included six birdies.

St. Thomas Aquinas captured the team title at two over par 578 (285-293). Lafayette finished second, two strokes off the lead.

Dartmouth's Tyler Brand and Nolan Skaggs of St. Thomas Aquinas were co-medalists at six under par 138. Both players shot 66 in the morning and 72 in the afternoon.

The Mountain Hawks will face Lafayette in the annual Presidents Cup match play event Tuesday at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, N.J. The Patriot League Championship is April 25-27 at the Bucknell Golf Club.
