BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Five Lehigh wrestlers have been recognized as Scholar All-Americans as the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced its individual academic awards for the 2023-24 season on Friday.

Graduate students Luca Frinzi and Jake Logan were honored along with deferred first-years Ryan Crookham and Kelvin Griffin and true first-year Luke Stanich. Logan is now a three-time NWCA Scholar All-American while Frinzi was recognized for the second time.

The individual Scholar All-America awards have qualifying standards based on grade point average and season record and accomplishments. The system for the NWCA's academic awards includes grade point averages for wrestlers that competed in their NCAA Championship conference qualifier, plus select others that competed in at least one varsity dual during the season.

Logan, Griffin, Crookham and Stanich were all NCAA Championship qualifiers with the latter two earning All-America honors last weekend in Kansas City.

A two-time NCAA qualifier and four-time EIWA placewinner, Logan earned a degree in finance last May and holds a 3.85 GPA in Lehigh's data science graduate program.

Frinzi was previously recognized following the 2021 season. He also earned his degree in finance and holds a 3.63 in Lehigh's technical entrepreneurship graduate program. Frinzi went 10-4 in his senior season and wrestled in two duals.

Crookham owns a 3.67 GPA majoring in financial engineering. He went 23-1 in his first-year eligibility season, winning an EIWA title at 133 and finishing third at the NCAA Championships.

A psychology major, Griffin holds a 3.24 GPA. He led Lehigh with 37 bouts wrestled in 2023-24, going 26-11. Griffin ranked among the nation's leaders with 15 wins by fall and qualified for the NCAA Championships with a third-place EIWA finish.

Stanich won an EIWA title and earned All-America honors as a true first-year with a fifth-place finish at 125. He went 25-4 in 2023-24 and holds a 3.70 GPA in Lehigh's College of Business and Economics.

This year's individual Scholar All-America teams featured 338 individuals from 78 Division I institutions. The Mountain Hawks have now had multiple individual All-Academic honorees in 14 straight seasons and have totaled 27 honorees over the last six campaigns.

The 2023-24 Lehigh wrestling season is presented by the Historic Hotel Bethlehem.
