Lehigh Closes Out 2024 Season With Loss At Temple

PHILADELPHIA - The Lehigh field hockey team closed out its 2024 campaign with a 2-0 loss to the Temple Owls on Sunday in Philadelphia.

The first quarter was knotted at 0-0 at the close, with Temple having a 1-0 shot advantage.

The Owls struck with their first goal on a penalty corner in the final minute of the half, taking a 1-0 lead into intermission.

Lehigh came out with momentum in the second half, out-cornering Temple 3-0 in the third period.Â
Â
Temple extended its lead to 2-0 on another penalty corner with less than nine minutes remaining in the contest.

Senior goalkeeper Jenny Canoni made two saves while Temple's senior goalkeeper Ashley Cogger earned the win on Senior Day.

The Owls outshot the Mountain Hawks 17-1 and outcornered Lehigh 6-4.

Lehigh finished the 2024 season 7-10 overall and 2-4 in Patriot League play.
