BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Patriot League volleyball season continues this weekend as Lehigh is set to play host once again and hit the road for their first away match since September 2. The Mountain Hawks host Bucknell on Friday before embarking on a three-game road trip, beginning with a date against Lafayette in the team's first rivalry match of 2023.

Lehigh (9-4, 1-1 PL) competed in three matches last week, finishing with a 2-1 record. The Mountain Hawks began the week on a strong note, defeating Villanova on Wednesday in four sets to claim their second win over a Big East member school this year (at UConn, 9/2). Lehigh then set its sights on the Patriot League season, welcoming Holy Cross to Grace Hall to begin league play. The Mountain Hawks cruised past the Crusaders in three sets led by junior Megan Schulte's 14 kills. Lehigh concluded its weekend by playing host to defending league champion Colgate, falling to the Raiders in three hard-fought sets.

Bucknell (4-7, 0-2 PL) opened Patriot League play by hosting two matches this past Friday and Saturday. The Bison dropped their first league match of the year to Army in three sets and then fell to Colgate on Saturday in four. Catherine Jamison leads the Bison in kills with 119, Caleigh O'Connell has tallied a team-high 206 assists, Jordan Hardy leads the way with 223 digs while Sidney Shaffer's 36.0 blocks are a team best. Following Friday's match, Bucknell will stay in the Lehigh Valley to take on Lafayette on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Lafayette (5-5, 1-1 PL) enters this weekend off the heels of a 1-1 weekend to open Patriot League season. The Leopards started league play off right, defeating Holy Cross three sets to one. Lafayette hosted the Army Black Knights the day after but were unable to recreate the success of the day before, falling in three sets. Abby Nieporte is the team leader in kills for the Leopards with 75, Anna Van Wyk leads the team with 179 assists, Carson Grace Toomer has recorded a team-high 98 digs while Gracie Gibson's 27.0 blocks lead Lafayette. The Leopards will host Bucknell on Saturday before welcoming Lehigh on Sunday.

Both of the weekend's matches will be streamed on ESPN+, or you can follow along with live stats (vs. Bucknell, at Lafayette). Lehigh's home match against Bucknell begins at 7 p.m. on Friday inside Grace Hall while the team's first rivalry match of the season against Lafayette is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday in Easton.
