Lehigh Completes Opening 18 Holes at Temple Invitational

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team opened play at the Temple Invitational with a score of 296 Saturday at the 1912 Club. The Mountain Hawks are tied for seventh in a 14-team field entering Sunday's final round.
Graduate student David Hurly led the way for Lehigh, shooting two over par 72. Hurly carded a pair of birdies in his opening round and is tied for 12th place.
One stroke behind Hurly was senior Edmund Broderick, who carded a 73 and is tied for 18th place. Broderick made two birdies and an eagle 3 on the par 5 12th hole.
Junior Jahan Bains is tied for 35th place after shooting five over par 75. Bains led Lehigh with three birdies in his opening round.
Junior Aidan Oehrle and sophomore Paulius Malcius are part of a tie for 42nd at 76. Both players notched a pair of birdies in their opening rounds.
First-year Matthew Quinn is competing as an individual and shot 80 on Saturday. His round included two birdies.
Drexel shot 283 to lead the team race by two strokes over Penn. Individually, Drexel's Oscar Mayfield and Penn's Hayden Adams are tied for the lead at three under par 67.
The Temple Invitational concludes Sunday with the final 18 holes beginning at 7 a.m.
