BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a weekend full of volleyball at Leeman-Turner Arena, Lehigh is set to host three more matches this week at home. The Mountain Hawks will welcome the Villanova Wildcats on Wednesday and will begin Patriot League play against Holy Cross and Colgate on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Lehigh (7-3) went 2-2 across its four matches at this past weekend's Steel Classic, defeating Delaware State and FDU while losing to Virginia Tech and Binghamton. Megan Schulte and Emily Stewart were awarded with all-tournament team distinction following the weekend's matches. Schulte recorded 55 kills, a .937 serve percentage and four aces on route to a Patriot League Player of the Week honorable mention. Stewart hit an efficient .323 percent on the weekend, adding 30 kills and 17 blocks herself. Junior Kyleigh Brown sits only 64 digs away from 1,000 for her career, something Mountain Hawk faithful should certainly keep an eye on this weekend.

Villanova (7-2) enters Wednesday night's match riding a four-match winning streak. The Wildcats played in a tournament at the University of Delaware on September 8-9, defeating the host Blue Hens and Rider in two three-set sweeps. First-year Abby Harrell leads the team in kills with 110, senior Andrea Campos has tallied a team-best 354 assists, senior Kiera Booth is the team's leading blocker with 29, and junior Elizabeth Feczko leads Villanova with 121 digs. The two teams last faced each other in 2017, with the Mountain Hawks claiming a 3-0 win in Bethlehem.

Holy Cross (3-6) most recently welcomed NJIT for a home match on September 9, falling to the Highlanders in three sets. The Crusaders' three wins thus far on the season have come against FDU (Aug. 25), Stonehill (Sept. 2), and Merrimack (Sept. 8). Junior Abbie Lane leads the Crusaders with 101 kills, junior Sarah Stokes is the team leader in assists with 195, senior Sanaea Simmons has blocked a team-high 22 attacks, and first-year Haley Gill leads Holy Cross with 113 digs. Lehigh swept the season series against Holy Cross a year ago, winning three sets to one in both matches.

Colgate (5-4) hosted a tournament in Hamilton this past weekend, going undefeated across three matches. The Raiders defeated West Virginia 3-2, UAlbany 3-0, and Cornell 3-1 September 7-9. Sophomore Carlie Rzeszotarski has a team-high 87 kills on the year, junior Sydney Jones leads the way with 182 assists, fifth-year Sophie Thompson is second in the nation with 54 blocks, and sophomore Rachael Martinez leads the Raiders with 125 digs. The Mountain Hawks dropped the season series to the Raiders last year, losing in four sets and three sets respectively.
