
Lehigh Third After Strong First Day At Wildcat Invitational

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Teams played 27 of the 36 holes of the Wildcat Invitational Monday at LuLu Country Club. It was a good first day for the Mountain Hawks, who shot 290 in round one and are two under par through nine holes in round two. At four over par, Lehigh sits in third place out of 15 team entering Tuesday's final nine holes.
Senior David Hurly leads the way for the Mountain Hawks at one under par. He made six birdies in his opening round and is even through nine holes in round two with a birdie and a bogey. Hurly is tied for fifth place.
Sophomore Aidan Oehrle matched Hurly with a round of 70 Monday morning and is currently two over par through nine holes in round two. At one over par, Oehrle is tied for 11th place. He also totaled seven birdies Monday with six in round one.
Senior Daniel Song and first-year Will Caronchi are tied for 22nd place at three over par. Song opened with a 76 and leads the Mountain Hawks in round two, playing his first nine holes at two under par. He made a birdie in round one and has added two more in round two.
Caronchi carded three birdies in an opening round 74 and has made two more in round two as he is even through nine holes.
Senior Sam Barton is five over par and tied for 33rd place. Barton has made one birdie in each round, shooting 76 in round one. He is even through nine in round two.
Competing as an individual, junior Edmund Broderick is part of the group tied for 11th at one over par. Broderick made five birdies in an opening round 71 and has three more in round two as he is currently one over through nine.
Host Villanova is one under par through 27 holes after shooting 282 in the morning and playing at plus one in round two. La Salle is one stroke behind. The Explorers shot 277 to lead the way after 18 holes. Lehigh is five strokes behind the host Wildcats.
Villanova's Peter Weaver and La Salle's Anthony Garcia are tied for the individual lead at five under par. They lead Villanova's Ryan Pamer by one stroke.
The Wildcat Invitational concludes Tuesday with the final nine holes at LuLu Country Club.
